The web design and growth marketing firm works closely with clients to build corporate websites and e-commerce solutions that help them derive more value from their digital presence. And now, the company is being recognised as a prominent digital leader, ranking among top organisations that are using new technologies in the most innovative and transformational ways.
myCloud Media was founded in 2011, offering support to manufacturers, technology businesses, and retailers as they embarked upon their digital transformation journeys. Today, the organisation specialises in strategic web design and growth marketing, working across even more industries. These include engineering, energy, education, and not-for-profit businesses. Supporting high-profile clients such as Ipsos Karian and Box, Leeds City Council, and Loading Systems International, the agency helps its clients leverage the power of digital.
The Digital Enterprise Top 100 Index celebrates the most digitally transformed, innovative, and resilient businesses across the Leeds City Region. Now in its third year, the index is designed to acknowledge Leeds and the surrounding area as a rapidly growing digital ecosystem. The campaign strives to shine a light on the pioneering organisations that are helping to make the region a true leader in digital technology adoption, demonstrating just what SMEs in the north are capable of.
This year's Top 100 Index features a diverse selection of small and medium-sized enterprises from across nine local authority areas within the Leeds City Region. These areas include Leeds, York, Harrogate, Wakefield, and Kirklees, which is where myCloud Media is based. Businesses recognised in the Index vary from design firms and web development leaders to digital training groups and world-renowned visitor attractions.
All with one thing in common: an ability to lead the digital revolution.
News of myCloud’s achievement comes following the launch of new digital developments by the passionate team. One such development is the introduction of the company’s new PROMOTE growth framework – a unique formula designed to help clients drive sales through the use of customer-centric digital strategies. The powerful framework is built around myCloud Media’s ETHIC principle, focusing on education, technology, business health, innovation, and positive action for climate change.
The Top 100 list was announced after a highly competitive nominations process, during which a panel of judges, led by Digital Enterprise Programme lead Suzanne Bradbury, made the final decision. Bradbury notes that “it was great to see so many impressive applications. The quality of the entries was so high that it made the judging process quite a challenge!” The judges’ decision was made by assessing nominees against three core criteria: digital innovation, resilience, and transformation.
Amongst the elements that the judges were looking for throughout the process were an ability to demonstrate the successful transformation of digital infrastructure to boost workplace productivity, and the use of digital technologies to support recovery and continuity during the pandemic. The judges also placed value on those organisations that were making investments in new digital solutions and strategies to help shape the future of digitalisation across a variety of industries.
Tim Bennett, founder of myCloud Media, says: “I am thrilled that myCloud Media have been recognised as a digital leader within the Leeds City Region. Since we first launched, we’ve always strived to look forwards, envision the potential of technology, and ask ‘what if…?’, and we’re proud to be acknowledged for our commitment and contribution to the industry. But most of all, we’re pleased to be in a position to help others. Through our inclusion in the Digital Enterprise Top 100 Index, we’re excited to act as an example to others during their own transformation journeys.”
This year’s Top 100 Index is particularly important as transformation and innovation become strategic necessities during this period of recovery. Over the past few years, digitalisation has emerged as the key to building a resilient business. In many cases, those relying on more traditional processes and operations often reported experiencing greater challenges throughout the global health crisis. Today, the ability to utilise the right technologies is critical to recovery, continuity, and ongoing success.
This growing importance of digital transformation is one of the reasons why Digital Enterprise decided to launch the Index. The Digital Enterprise Programme has been operational since 2016, helping SMEs across the Leeds City Region to grow and develop through the use of new technologies and improved access to expert support, guidance, and funding. To date, the programme has helped more than 2,000 local businesses thanks to investments from the European Regional Development Fund, the Leeds City Region Local Enterprise Partnership (LEP), and nine local authorities.
Digital Enterprise hope that this year's Top 100 will provide local businesses with inspirational, real-life examples of digital success. Highlighting how real businesses like myCloud Media are benefiting from digital transformation, it is hoped that the Index will make it easier for SMEs to see the strong link between technology and cost reduction, productivity, reach, and ultimately their bottom line. The motivational stories of the Top 100 will help the Leeds region maintain and indeed strengthen its position as one of the most innovative, exciting, and promising tech hubs in the north of England.
“Sometimes it takes a story of someone else’s success to spark that big idea. To see how others have solved problems that you’re grappling with. Maybe even spot an opportunity to collaborate with another business,” says Nicki Clark OBE, Chief Executive Officer of UMi. UMi is the leading business support consultancy that produced the Top 100 Index in partnership with Digital Enterprise.
